Job Title: General Builder
Location: Folkestone, Kent
Salary: £15 – £16 per hour (dependent on experience)
Job type: Full time, Permanent. 40 hours per week
Stretton and Lang Builders Ltd. is a family run business based just outside of Ashford and has been operating around the Kent area since 1983. We are a highly experienced general building company specialising in home extensions, period restoration, loft conversions, refurbishment, alterations, dry rot remedial work and disabled facilities work.
About the role:
Due to company expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced and committed General Builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have carpentry experience, although applicants with varied trade experience will also be considered. The majority of work undertaken will be located in areas around Ashford, Folkestone and Dover. Self-employed applications will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Strip out of partial or complete rooms / buildings and preparations for reinstallation
- Carpentry work including hanging doors, fitting door linings, architraves and skirtings and flooring
- Wall and floor tiling including wet room tiling
- Kitchen fitting including butt and scribe joints
- Bathroom fitting – plumbing not necessary
- Painting & staining of internal and external surfaces
- Plastering (desirable, but must be able to skim) & floor latexing
- Groundwork, basic landscaping, slab laying and drainage
- General building work as required to complete the above
Skills Required:
- Minimum of two years as a General Builder or similar
- Relevant qualifications in Carpentry, Plastering, Bricklaying are an advantage, although not necessary
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Great attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Customer service skills
- Full, clean UK driving license
- UK work authorisation
