The Role:
We are looking for a bright enthusiastic Funding & Projects Coordinator to join our Strategy and Engagement team on a Maternity Cover Fixed Term Contract.
The role is responsible for supporting the Migrant Help Income Strategy to diversify the charity’s income streams and build beneficial relationships with funders. Overseeing the funding application process, this role will work closely with the Head of Income & Partnerships to source opportunities and apply for funding for a range of projects that improve the lives of Migrant Help’s clients.
The postholder will develop content and materials to support income generation, including writing bids and applications, case for support and project impact reports. The postholder will need to maintain a good knowledge of the funding sector, keeping up to date with any developments that may impact the charity or the income strategy.
Duties and responsibilities:
Funding and Income Generation:
- Work with the Head of Income & Partnerships to build a portfolio of income streams and to source appropriate funding for projects.
- Research, monitor and maintain a list of funding opportunities from local authorities, statutory grant awarding organisations and trusts & foundations
- Lead on grant applications for funding with input from colleagues, and ensure the charity’s bid procedure is followed
- Write robust and compelling funding applications and propositions for high value grants to support the charity’s income strategy for the benefit of our clients
- Develop bespoke case for support propositions for identified projects requiring specific funding
- Produce accurate impact / evaluation reports in line with funding requirements and timeframes
- Build and maintain relationships with funders, funding partners, grants and trusts as directed by the Head of Income and Partnerships
- Produce social value case studies and other content to support fundraising objectives
- Maintain accurate records of funding applications, evaluation and impact reports
- Stewardship of individual donors, including regular giving, thankyous, and annual impact reports
- Manage CRM donor information, providing reports on general donation income
- Deliver administration, reports and evaluations both internally and also to funders as required
- Work with the operations teams to mobilise frontline projects, including leading on project planning and monitoring whilst keeping abreast of changes to the funding sector and develop an understanding of how this impacts the charity
Project Development:
- Lead and manage the development of a range of funding project proposals and business cases concurrently, ensuring relevant deadlines are met
- Provide funding project support to teams across the charity as required
- Build relationships with internal and external partners to understand the requirements of the project and find ways to collaborate
- Produce project proposals, including determining resources, researching options, developing outputs, producing cost analysis, evaluating methods and identifying risks
- Begin project planning for the mobilisation of successful proposals and work with colleagues to get the project up and running
- Prepare plans and proposals for approval at a variety of levels and report on progress
- Represent Migrant Help at partnership meetings and funder pitches as required
Experience and skills:
- Experience of bid writing, producing and leading on high value grant funding applications
- Experience of fundraising from Trust & Foundations
- Experience of fundable projects from conception to completion and evaluation
- Exceptional writing skills
- Demonstrable ability to use initiative and work with minimal instruction
