Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor

Salary: £32,000 plus benefits. Appointment is made at the entry salary to the grade.
Job type: Full Time – Permanent/12 months fixed term. Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm (36.25 hours per week)

The Role
As a Functional Skills Tutor you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and developing our functional skills curriculum (Maths, English and Digital) for our participants progressing them from their initial assessment level to at least one level higher as part of Street League’s Academy programme. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring that young people are retained on the course and achieve their functional skills qualifications.
We are looking for two people for this role. One of these roles is permanent and one is a Fixed-term contract lasting for 12 months which is funded by the European Social Fund. There will be a strong likelihood another contract will be offered after this time.
Ideal candidate will have
- Excellent delivery achieving a minimum of Grade 2 in all internal and external inspections, monitoring visits and observations
- DET Qualification or equivalent at Level 3 or above.
- Qualified at Level 2 or above in (Functional Skills) Maths, English and Digital Skills.
- An Assessor qualification is essential, with an Internal Verification qualification highly desirable.
- Information, Advice and Guidance Level 3 is highly desirable.
- Experience of working with young people and ‘vulnerable groups’
