Job Title: Freight Forwarder / Sales and Marketing Assistant

The Company is a procurement specialist in agricultural, scientific, Engineering and cottage industry equipment is seeking an individual with experience in freight forwarding and Cargo management for employment in their Norfolk area office.
Key Responsibilities:
Freight Forwarder
- Set up a freight-forwarding department
- Dealing with import and exports matters – negotiating contracts, transportation and handling costs
- Setting up a system and process for IATA registration
- Ensure total compliance with customs and port regulations for export of goods – obtaining, checking and preparing documentation to meet customs and insurance requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with other countries’ regulations and fiscal regimes
- Cargo management and packaging – arranging appropriate packing, taking into account the climate, terrain, weight, cost and nature of goods and also the delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination
- Carry out any other tasks deemed necessary and reasonable by the company
Sales / Marketing Assistant
- Develop marketing strategy for the new freight forwarding department
- Improve on exiting clientele base
- Take enquiries and process them
- Assist with procurement process
- Liaise between Suppliers, Forwarders and agents to obtain up to date shipment information
- Maintain customer and Suppliers record
- Carry out any other tasks deemed necessary and reasonable by the company
- Creates a plan for gaining customers and then retaining them based on warranties or guarantees
- Analyses and creates a plan for engaging the target market
- Analyses the competition to create a plan for engagement
- Makes product appeal to the target market
- Schedules appointments and meetings as necessary
- Answers questions from clients
- Makes product knowledge readily available to self and other sales people through various resources
- Researches client base to find new types of customers and sells to them accordingly
- Meet assign target
Key Requirements:
Freight Forwarder
- Experience in similar role
- IATA certification would be additional advantage
Sales / Marketing Assistant
- Experience in Market / Sales environment
- Experience in Procurement and freight forwarding industry would be an advantage
