Responsibilities:
- Working with the subject leader of food technology, and other food technology teachers, to help ensure food technology lessons are well resourced and run safely.
- Monitoring stock across the day and week, ensuring stock level of ingredients, and cooking utensils are adequate for lessons each day.
- Maintaining the departmental inventory.
- Ordering and sourcing replacement stock at regular intervals as required, to ensure stock levels remain as required.
- Unpacking deliveries and ensuring store cupboards are tidy and hygienic.
- Ensuring the food room is ready for safe preparation and cooking, with all ingredients and resources in place for the start of practical lessons.
- Assisting staff in maintaining a safe environment in the classroom during food technology lessons
- Supporting students with their preparation and cooking, as directed by the classroom food technology teacher.
- Assisting with the clearance and disposal of used ingredients at the end of each lesson.
- Ensuring all utensils and resources are clean and returned at the end of each day, ready for the following day
- Inform the subject lead for food technology of any missing or damaged items, as soon as practicably possible.
- Assisting staff with general duties, including photocopying, arranging displays, photographing work and preparation of materials for lessons and schemes of learning.
- Undertaking appropriate training on health and safety and any other areas relevant to the role.
- Recording and maintaining accurate records of data required for the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations and risk assessments for the safe use of any equipment or materials.

- The post holder will be expected to take on any other reasonable tasks, commensurate with the level of this post, at the direction of the Headteacher, which may change as the School develops.
