Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Remote (Post in London)
Salary: £50,000 to £80,000 per annum
Job Type: Variable hours currently available from full to part time.

We’re looking for an energetic and ambitious financial controller to help build out the core finance operations and to support the business with key data insights, reporting, and controls. You’ll be instrumental in building a strong finance function that is scalable and capable of supporting our exciting growth aspirations whilst growing yourself and opening up career defining opportunities.

The Role:
- Development of Zedify’s core finance processes, driving forward improvements to ensure we are operating efficiently and effectively and to facilitate scale-up.
- Delivering accurate and timely monthly management accounts; you’lll lead on our month end close process, including the preparation of monthly journals and account reconciliations through to the production of full financial statements.
- Preparation of monthly review packs, turning the numbers into valuable insights for senior management and stakeholders across the business
- Partnering with individual areas of the business (operations, commercial, etc) to support them in understanding their numbers and implement effective budget control.
- Development of Zedify’s core finance processes, driving forward improvements to ensure we are operating efficiently and effectively and to facilitate scale-up.
- Preparation of cashflow forecasts based on the latest activity to enable close monitoring & management of upcoming cash needs of the business.
- Oversight of employee expenses and support implementation of adequate policies.
- Responsibility for filing statutory & VAT returns and other tax activity including R&D tax credits.
- Supporting with our annual audit, dealing with requests and assisting with the preparation of information.
- Supporting company funding and investment requirements
- Planning and preparing updates to the business plan and associated financial forecasts
- Development of the finance team, ensuring individuals become the best they can be
Who we’re looking for:
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) with suitable experience within a fast-growing SME
- Strong FC experience including FP&A, month-end process, reporting & internal audit
- Impeccable eye for detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Knowledge of statutory reporting and technical accounting best practices
- Have a strong sense of ownership, set a high standard and are always looking to raise the bar further
- Track record of system and process improvement and generating new insights
- Ability to get to grips with and report on complex data; exposure to data visualisation tools such as Looker would be advantageous
- Experience using accountancy tools and ERP software, ideally Xero (our accounting software)
- You want to get in on something from day one – to change, create and build something with like-minded people
- Experience in retail logistics including cost of serve would be desirable
