Dataquest (UK) Ltd is a nationwide leading IT, Print and Telecoms Solutions company. We have an opening in our City office for an experienced Financial Controller. About the role
We’re looking for a forward thinking Financial Controller who can lead the City accounts team. There is the opportunity to progress to managing the processes and teams across the group. We need you to provide accurate management information to the board and ideally be the type of person who can help develop processes to make the accounts function run as well as possible. You should also be the type of person who enjoys developing the careers of those around you.
What will you be doing?
- Manage, motivate and develop a team of 5
- Preparation and review of month end board packs
- Ensuring month end close by day 7
- Production of sales reporting pack
- Monthly commission calculations
- Governance of process flows in and out of the finance function
- Co-ordinate and manage year end audit.
- Co sec work
- Manage and maintain an effective and efficient credit control function
- Identify and implement improvements within the function
- Co-ordinate the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Partnering with heads of business units to track performance at GP/NP
- Liaise with finance heads of group of companies on ad hoc basis
- Clearly defined development pathway to Finance Director
Experience Required
- Past management experience (at least four people)
- 3 years post qualified experience with any recognised accountancy body
- Good system skills (preferably Sage 200 but not essential)
- Good understanding of the objectives and workings of internal financial control
- Ability to quickly build relationships with external and internal contacts at all levels with confidence
- Experience of managing finance projects/ implementations
- Deadline orientated
