The Council’s Finance Department is changing and they are now recruiting to a number of roles for professional accountants looking to progress to the next stage of their career.
They are recruiting Finance Managers and Assistant Finance managers across a range of services.
The Role:
The Finance Manager / Assistant Finance Managers will play a key role helping them shape and embed their new finance service. They have a number of roles available at the Finance Manager / Assistant Finance Managers level, across Strategy, Financial Reporting and Business Partnering. They are all focussed on ensuring their transformation is delivered efficiently and effectively, at speed.
They are looking for innovative individuals who can lead by example and help build a sustainable, highly effective, service that delivers exceptional support for one of their front-line departments; Adults and Health, Children’s Services, Housing, and Environment.
Finance manager:
You’ll oversee the strategic, financial reporting or partnering activities of one of their front-line services. And whether your focus is on their adults and health, children’s, housing or environment service -they’ll expect you to fuse innovation, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability into everything you do.
Assistant Finance Manager:
Working closely into a Finance Manager, you’ll help deliver the strategic, financial reporting or partnering activities that support one of their front-line services. And whether you take responsibility for their Adults and Health, Children’s, Housing or Environment service – you’ll push through transformations that produce greater effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability.
Job Duties:
Finance manager:
They’ll expect you to be the key contact for senior stakeholders including Corporate Directors and Heads of services. You will provide professional counsel to colleagues and partners. In turn, you’ll inspire your staff to deliver value for money, develop opportunities and embed commercial practices.
Assistant Finance Manager:
They’ll expect you to be the key contact for and provide professional counsel to colleagues and senior stakeholders. In turn, you’ll develop the staff working under you and support senior managers and contribute towards a high performing department.
Key Requirements:
Successful applicants will be fully CCAB qualified with significant post qualification experience. You will have experience managing change and be comfortable working in a local government setting.
You will confidently work with senior figures as well as having the people management skills to manage a large team. You will be able to nurture and develop talent within the finance team.
