We are recruiting for a Qualified Finance Manager to join a 15m turnover real estate business based in East London.
The role:
You will be responsible for leading the finance & operational department activities in its preparation of monthly management and financial accounts, annual audit & statutory accounting and to support the individual functions within the department.
As the Finance Manager you will manage a current team of 6 and be responsible for managing the finances of the group of companies. This is an exciting position in a growing and ambitious business. There will be a need to be fully hands on with the financial and management accounting process, as well as leading the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting process.
You will provide strong financial support, analysis and challenge for all decision making, as well as leading operational projects and be a key part of achieving our expansion goals.
The Candidate must possess:
- Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Sound accounting technical knowledge and skills
- Have managed statutory audit
- Experience working as a Management Accountant or Finance Manager
- The ability to analyse processes and procedures and make improvements
- Knowledge of the real estate industry would be an advantage
- Working knowledge of Payroll guidelines, Sage Line 50/Payroll, dual banking approval systems.
- Knowledge of PeopleHR software would be an advantage
- Advanced Excel skills are a must
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Lead the finance team on the timely and accurate management accounts for the board and offices, including profit and loss accounts, KPI’s, metrics, collation of reports from Credit control, HR & other departments.
- Lead the Group’s annual audit
- Balance sheet reconciliations and review
- P & L analysis
- Assisting with directors’ personal tax returns and submission to HMRC.
- Leading monthly in-house payroll and postings to ledger
- Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly payment schedules on the bank-line, authorisations and approvals.
- Monthly commission review within payroll.
- Sales reporting – ensuring that sales revenue is appropriately recorded.
- Accounts payable management – working alongside the Accounts Payable team in order to ensure efficient ledger management.
