Job Purpose:
The Data Installation Engineer is responsible for Field Services.
The BTS role is a field-based role working with the Field Teams to commission and install.
The Electricians will be responsible for the installation and testing of electrical installations on the mobile phone network infrastructure to BS7671 and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Engineers
- Fibre handling adept use of OPM and fault finding
- Copper and co-axial terminating, testing and fault finding
- Minor Infrastructure survey & build
- Rack/Sub rack Installation
- Installation of telecoms equipment, including minor DC power work, in equipment rooms or out on site in accordance with the design documentation provided
- Assisting other engineers where and when appropriate, ensuring compliance and adherence with policies and procedures
- To take full responsibility for the complete installation and test to customer standards.
- Reporting progress and issues affecting the work
- Responsibility for ensuring all equipment issued is kept in good working order maintaining calibration and test date
- A willingness to travel is essential
- Perform all duties safely and to industry best practice
- Receive and check issued paperwork from the office
- Report all issues with equipment in a timely manner
BTS Engineers
- Complete installation and commissioning on BTS installations as per specific project(s)
- Perform all duties safely and to industry best practice
- Ensure all HOP reports are submitted to the required standards and timescales
- Receive and check issued link paperwork from the office
- Maintain company issued vehicles and equipment with respect and to a high standard
- Report all issues with issued vehicle and equipment in a timely manner
- Identify any training requirements where relevant
- Complete project reports/paperwork and upload within agreed project SLA
- Support Project Manager with project delivery
Electricians
- Complete installation, testing and commissioning duties on electrical systems as per specific project(s)
- Perform all duties safely and to industry best practice
- Ensure all electrical works are carried out as per BS7671 and relevant design criteria
- Ensure all testing is completed as per BS7671 and company/project standards
- Ensure all project reports/paperwork are completed correctly and uploaded within agreed project timescales
- Receive and check issued installation designs and paperwork from the office
- Maintain any company issued equipment with respect and to a high standard
- Report all issues with issued equipment in a timely manner
- Identify and maintain any professional training requirements where relevant
- Support Project Manager with project delivery
- Understand and Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Assist Project Engineer with project delivery when required
Key Requirements:
Data Engineers
- NPPV3 Clearance
- Emergency First Aid at Work (005-HS-APP)
- RF/EMF Awareness (005-HS-RFA)
- Roof Top Safety (005-HS-RTS) (desirable)
- Experience in a data Centre environment essential
- Siena Training would be desirable
BTS Engineers
- SEP Level 1 and/or Level 2
- Emergency First Aid at Work
- Asbestos Awareness
- Manual Handling
- RF/EMF Awareness
Electricians
- Lvl 3 Pts 1&2 Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition of BS 7671 Electrical Requirements
- RF Awareness
- Rooftop Access

- AC/DC Power Awareness
- First Aid at Work
- 2391 Inspection & Testing (desirable)
- Experience in the Telecoms sector (desirable)
