Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Engineer / Manager
Location: Dorking, Surrey
Salary: £30,000 + Negotiable, Dependant on Experience

The Company is a well-established manufacturer and renowned experts in precision machining, bonding and finishing engineering grade plastics. They supply global, blue-chip customers in industries including life sciences, medical devices and industrial applications with solutions including fluidic manifolds and optical components.
The Role:
This role is very much hands on maintenance engineering but also with the responsibility for the site facilities upkeep and managing sub-contractors. It is a vital part of the team to ensure the continuous, smooth operation of the facilities and some machinery. The CNC machines themselves are not a core part of the role as a third party service company covers these. The role is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the buildings, machinery and grounds as well as supporting facility changes and new equipment installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing contractors including one to maintain and service CNC machining centres
- Responding to breakdowns
- Diagnosing faults where possible
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance
- Repairing equipment as required
- Obtaining specialist components, fixtures or fittings
- Sourcing suitable contractors for specific works
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
- Formulating maintenance procedures
- Managing stocks of equipment and relevant supplies
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Good understanding of general building work (Electrics, Plumbing, building & Carpentry etc)
- Hands on maintenance and engineering skills
- A recognised apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a City & Guilds or BTEC equivalent.
- Health and Safety awareness and experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Relevant technical knowledge
- Problem-solving skills
- Can-do attitude and ability to work under pressure to deadlines
- Working with and managing sub-contractors
Nice to have:
- Recognised third party electricians certification
- Fork lift truck licence
