Purpose of the Role:
- To own, be responsible and take pride in delivering the duties and responsibilities set out in this job description.
- Facilitate the delivery of food and other supplies by driving the fridge-van, college car or college mini-buses showing respect and kindness to residents and colleagues and promoting a harmonious team atmosphere.
- To support Morden College operations and facilities management by setting up and clearing before/after functions and events and by taking part in the service of food and beverages for events College-wide.
- To be approachable, receptive, and reactive to resident and colleague needs, providing day to day transport of supplies between and within sites.
- To provide cover for the College shop.
- To transport food to and waste food away from service areas, primarily the care home
- To handle and process all waste, including clinical waste, and recycling in line with policy and legislation.
- To assist with the transportation of residents using buggies
- To maintain College storage areas in good order, ensuring they are clean, tidy and locked when unattended.
- To assist in the execution of stock takes as and when required.
- To undertake planned and reactive external cleaning services, including jet-washing, in line with the methods and standards specified in the Morden College Housekeeping Manual and to complete periodic cleaning schedules
General Duties and Responsibilities:

- During your shift, to be aware of your own Health and Safety obligations and those to other staff and residents in your area and comply with policies put in place.
- To attend all training as required and keep personal mandatory and legislative training up to date, always being open minded and progressive in your thinking.
- To maintain confidentiality at all times
- To understand and act on responsibilities regarding whistleblowing.
- To attend and participate in staff meetings and partake in Morden College supervisions and appraisals.
- To undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager which may include providing housekeeping cover in other Morden College areas.
Person Specification:
- Clean full driving licence held for at least two years.
- Willing to undertake training as required.
- Experience of driving in busy urban areas.
- Experience of driving on motorways/major routes and minor roads.
- Developed IT skills, using Microsoft Office packages.
- Numerate and literate.
- Ability to proactively engage with compliance requirements
- Flexible approach to work and working hours – occasional weekends and some evenings
- Reasonably fit and able to undertake the demanding aspects of the role
