Great Walstead School is a delightful independent standalone prep school for boys and girls aged 2 ½ to 13 set in 260 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside. We are looking for a EYFS Teaching Assistant to work in our Nursery and as a Supervisor in our After School Club (The Keep).

The Role:

You will work within the requirements set out in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years and contribute a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all the children in the room across the Nursery. You will work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop.

Main Purpose:

• To support the Room Leaders with the day-to-day running of their Nursery rooms
• To help maintain a high-quality, stimulating, safe and inclusive environment for all children
• To help promote the aims and objectives of the Nursery
• To help promote the high standards of the Nursery

The successful applicant should have:

• Experience working with children in the 2 to 5 years age group
• A minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Child Care, or equivalent qualification
• Sensitivity and caring to the needs of young children
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to work co-operatively as part of a team
