The Organisation is the voice of dentists and dental students in the UK. They bring dentists together, support their members through advice and education, and represent their interests. This is a challenging and dynamic period for dentistry and the Organisation is recruiting an Events Executive to work in their busy Events team.
Role Overview:
This is a full-time fixed term contract role to provide cover and will be based in their offices in central London. The post holder will report to the Events Manager and will be responsible for developing and delivering the Company’s Clinical Expert series of events, other clinical and non-clinical seminars, other new events and event management contracts.
This includes being responsible for developing and managing a series of events. The post holder will carry out research into new topics and generate and write event programmes through liaison with speakers, colleagues and advisers. They will invite and work closely with speakers, chairs and venue staff for their events, ensuring a good relationship in the run up to the event and on the day. They will provide the copy for event brochures, carry out proofing and input into the design of promotional literature.
The post holder will be responsible for setting up each event on the website ready to accept online bookings. They will generate sales invoices and speaker agreements; they will manage delegate bookings and process delegate registrations, both offline over the phone and processing them on the database. They will prepare for events and oversee and manage the smooth running of the events on the day.
The post holder will work closely with and brief the Events and Sponsorship Manager and the Exhibition Sales and Sponsorship Executive regarding the sponsorship / exhibition sales of their Events.
The ideal Candidate will have/ be:
The successful candidate should have;
- Demonstrable experience of managing and developing events and programmes;
- Good negotiating skills to secure effective agreements with corporate partners, external suppliers of goods and services, and venue managers; excellent personal organisation skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent proof reading and editing skills, including the ability to draft and liaise creatively with designers of promotional materials and products;
- Demonstrable experience of working as part of an effective team;
- Commitment to a high level of customer service;
- Demonstrable experience of managing budgets for individual events and good it skills, including in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and the use of contact management databases.
