About the role:
As an Environmental Health Officer you will be based in the Safer Communities Service at the Civic Centre, Harrogate and there is opportunity for some remote/home working subject to approval.
You will work in the Environmental Protection Team who cover a wide range of service areas including:
- Statutory nuisance
- Public health
- Environmental crime
- The dog warden service
- Contaminated land
- Air quality management
- Industrial pollution control and private water supplies
You will be responsible for investigating statutory nuisance complaints and responding to planning and licensing consultations. You must have working knowledge and understanding of the nuisance provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and knowledge of Licensing and Planning legislation.
About you:
It is essential that you have a degree in Environmental Health, have EHRB registration and be a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. Applications from student Environmental Health Officers will be considered.
