Job Title: Engineering Workshop Production Assistant
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £11.00 – £13.00 per hour depending on experience.
Job type: Permanent, Full time 40 hours per week – some evening and weekend work may be required

We have a specially kitted out workshop, one that you would be proud to work in which is located conveniently just on the outskirts of Milton Keynes centre. We are recruiting for lots of new team members due to huge growth within our order books.
Job Purpose:
To provide assistance within the Engineering Workshop where required, supporting the team with ad hoc tasks around the department.
The Job
This is a varied role within the Engineering Workshop team, reporting to the Engineering Workshop Senior Manager. You will ensure parts are ready to be delivered to Cell Production and assist within other departments where required.
Main Duties:
- Processing parts to and from surface treatment ensuring sufficient packaging to prevent damage and maintaining part traceability at all times.
- Inserting manufactured hardware with Rivetnuts, Helicoils and Keenserts.
- Conduct the preparation of parts for adhesive bonding.
- Assist with the material moulding of fuel bladders.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and cleaning of Shot Blaster.
- Assist with general maintenance around the site as required.
- Provide cover for the Stores team including delivered and collections to/from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist with the preparation of raw materials.
- Conduct some mechanical assembly work within the Production Line.
- Escalate any Quality concerns or risks to the Quality Control team.
- Use environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with our environmental policy
- Seek ways to reduce waste and energy usage in accordance with our environmental objectives.
The Person and Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- No specific qualifications are required to succeed in this role, however a qualification in an engineering discipline would be advantageous.
Experience
- 1 year of relevant manufacturing experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Mechanical understanding.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, an advantage.
- Knowledge of stock control of raw materials desirable but not essential.
