Job Title: Engineering Machinist & Assembly Technician
Location: Old Trafford, Manchester
Salary: £19,525.00 p/a + bonus + pension + usual benefits
Job type: Permanent, Full time (37.5h per week)
Daily Times: Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5pm. Friday 8:30am to 3:45pm.
Established in 1961 a successful and well established major UK manufacture, supplier and servicer of medical equipment to Hospitals and Ambulance Services throughout the UK and over 60 countries worldwide.
They are looking for someone with experience of working with bench Lathes, Drills, Millers, Grinders and assembly work.
The Role:
To work alongside the R & D Design team and production team to produce special components, modify existing components and to help assemble and test finished products.
Job Duties:
A successful candidate will be expected to modify existing components and machine small batch quantities of special components using manual lathes, bench millers and drills to dimensional drawings.
The candidate is expected to have the knowledge of thread forms, screw thread cutting, drill bit and lathe tool grinding. The candidate will work alongside the design and production team to create and improve their production jigs and test equipment. The successful candidate will also be involved in the assembly and testing of finished products.
The successful Candidate will have/ be:
- Previous experience using Manual Lathes, Drills, Millers & Grinders & Hand Tools.
- Ability to read and understand Machine Component Drawings.
- Conversant with engineering measuring instruments.
- Quality minded with an attention to detail and improvements.
- Ability to use initiative to help develop products.
- Ability to assemble and test finished products. (product training provided)
- Mature in nature.
- Must be able to read, write and speak good English.
