Job Role:
These posts are a stimulating opportunity for exceptional professionals to be at the heart of shaping the highway environment in Calderdale located in the heart of the Leeds City Region between Leeds and Manchester.
The primary role is in being part of a team delivering highway schemes and contributing to the delivery of the integrated transport objectives of the Local Transport Plan (LTP).
You will be responsible for amongst other things;
- Preparing design solutions for highway safety and improvement schemes
- Processing permanent and experimental traffic orders ensuring that the Council complies with the requirements of current legislation
- Work programming
- Estimating and reporting on scheme progress
The team also delivers a broad range of other civil engineering projects covering areas such as public realm and S38/S278 highway projects.
Experience in these other areas would therefore be advantageous.
To be shortlisted for interview your personal statement should clearly evidence the specified requirements of the role profile.
They would particularly welcome interest from individuals with recognised engineering qualifications who may hold chartered/incorporated status with an appropriate professional body (e.g. ICE) or equivalent relevant experience.
You should have a good working knowledge of TSRGD 2016 and the Traffic Signs Manuals, be proficient in AutoCAD and experience with KeySIGN, KeyLINES and KeyACCIDENT would be an advantage.
