Job Title: Criminal Justice Engagement Lead
Location: Home-based, with regular travel across the UK (monthly, sometimes weekly) and occasional attendance at the London office (approx. once per quarter)
Salary: £26,390 – £29,557 – dependent on experience
Job Type: Full time, Fixed Term Contract until April 2024 (with the desire of future funding and extension of position)

Founded in 1997, GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide treatment for anyone who is harmed by gambling, create awareness about safer gambling and treatment, and encourage an effective approach to safer gambling within the gambling industry.
The Role
This is a great time to join GamCare’s Criminal Justice and Gambling Harm (CJ&GH) programme as we’re recruiting for an Engagement Lead, to establish and build relationships with key Criminal Justice organisations, to raise awareness of gambling harms and help embed change at both organisational and national level.
The Criminal Justice and Gambling Harm Programme is at the forefront of developing awareness and new ways of working across many areas of the CJS. The Programme is looking to increase its reach and impact over the next year with long term visions to see gambling harm requirements implemented across the CJS.
The Engagement Lead role is a new position designed to establish and maintain relationship, develop new areas of working and deliver the training offer. The role will work closely with the CJ&GH Programme Manager to build capacity within diverse organisations to reduce gambling harm in the people they work with.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will be in a unique position to be able to support real time change in partnership with Criminal Justice Services. By working with services, you will establish current best practise and support in promoting new ways of working that will inform potential national policy change. In raising awareness through delivering our CJ&GH Training and developing strong engagement more professionals will be able to identify, screen and support those impacted by gambling harm.
As an Engagement Lead, you will have demonstrable experience of identifying key stakeholders and developing relationships with a wide range of audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Map the stakeholder landscape and identify new opportunities in assigned region
- Promote and deliver the CJ&GH training programme with organisations
- Support organisational leaders to create new processes for screening for gambling harm in the people they work with
- Collate feedback from organisations to feed into the Programme’s evaluation
- Support in delivering online and face to face events
