Job Overview

The work is varied, interesting and demanding as we expect high standards for quality and performance. With good theoretical and practical technical knowledge, you will be responsible for designing and supporting the manufacture of electronics that are integral to the function and performance of our products. Main responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing solutions to support data acquisition and control of new educational products including: printed circuit board design, development and validation; firmware development and validation; integration with controllers, instrumentation, drives, etc
- Providing technical support for on-site manufacturing and test to quickly resolve issues and keep production on track to meet customer delivery dates
Responsibilities
- New Product Development
- Develop solutions to support data acquisition and control of new educational products including:
- printed circuit board design, development and validation
- firmware development and validation
- Develop solutions to support data acquisition and control of new educational products including:
- integration with controllers, instrumentation, drives, etc
- Create new concepts/approaches that deliver improved quality, capability and/or reduced cost
- Current Product Support
- Find effective solutions to deal with issues associated with obsolete components to ensure products remain viable and lead times maintained
- Support Customer Services in the resolution of any customer issues
- Compliance
- Complete activities in compliance with appropriate Standards and ensure electronic systems comply with electrical safety, EMC and RoHS regulations
- Production Support
- Providing support to resolve issues associated with electronic systems found during production and end-of-line testing
About You:
Essential
- Degree in Electronics or Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- 2+ Years commercial electronic design experience, Analogue and Digital Including:
- Interfacing to instrumentation and transducer signal processing
- Interfacing to microcontrollers
- Signal conditioning (filtering, amplification, attenuation etc.)
- Schematic Capture and PCB Design
- Understanding PCB assembly and manufacturing processes
- Ability to build and test prototypes
- Full product design lifecycle
- Experience with PIC microcontrollers
- Knowledge and experience of C & C# programming
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, updates to drawings, bill of materials, manufacturing drawings, PCB manufacturing files etc.
Desirable
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 / IPC Standards
- Knowledge of design for EMC
- Familiarity with Low Voltage and EMC directives (CE Marking)
- Use of MRP/ERP systems to control bill of materials
- Use of EDA software – Pulsonix (preferred) and Boardmaker
