Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced industrial Electrical Technician in Maidstone, Kent with a strong background in control systems to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of electrical systems, control circuits, and troubleshooting techniques. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and control systems in our industrial facilities. Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring that all work is in accordance with relevant codes.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex control systems, including PLCs, HMI, VFDs, and other related control equipment.
- Interpret electrical and control system schematics, blueprints, and diagrams to locate and diagnose problems.
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and control equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation and timely completion of projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring the safety of others.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in control systems technology and industry best practices.
- Provide technical support and training to other team members as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician Technician, with a focus on control systems within an industrial environment.
- The ideal candidate will be 18th Edition qualified.
- Completion of a recognised electrical apprenticeship program or technical school is preferred (NVQ LVL 3 / JIB Gold Card or similar).
- UK resident / Right to work in the UK.
- Valid electrician’s license in the country of employment
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and control system schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex control systems.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and regulations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
