The Role:
Reporting to Electrical Engineers on a daily basis the Electrical Technician will assist in the installation, commissioning and operation of Power supplies and NBI (Neutral Beam Injection) systems for their ST40 project.
Duties will include:
- Electrical installation work including both Power and Control
- Electrical and Mechanical Panel Build
- Proto type builds from either discussion or electrical drawings
- Mechanical fabrication and installation
- Vacuum System installation
- Instrumentation of cryogenic test equipment
- Testing and developing controls and power electronics with Engineers
- General engineering support to Scientists and Engineers

- Reporting to the within the Electrical Engineering team to the Electrical Engineer

Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
- Working from Drawings
- Field Wiring Installations
- Control Systems wiring
- Mechanical Fitting
Desirable:
- PLC programming and interrogation
- High current power supplies familiariation
- Welding, large scale soldering
- Cryogenic systems integration and instrumentation
- Vacuum Systems
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Apprentice time served
- 17th Edition wiring Regs
Desirable:
- ONC Electrical / Electronic minimum
- Forklift license
- Crane license
- Rigging and slinging
