Job Title: Electrical/Strain Gauge Fitter
Location: Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £22,000 – £26,000, pension, life assurance, generous holiday entitlement, clean working environment with free parking,
Job Type: 37 hours per week – 8.00am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs (30 mins lunch), 8.00am to 1.00pm Fri (no lunchbreak)

The role:
The role of the Electrical/Strain Gauge Fitter is built products and fit strain gauges requested by the Assembly Manager in line with planned production schedule
General Duties
- Building products to the required standard (in accordance with ISO9001 quality standards)
- Duties will include wiring/cabinet wiring/panel wiring/soldering/crimping/cutting wires to length/stripping wires/wire termination
- Fitting strain gauges to high standard both visual and functional
- Complete required surface preparation for strain gauges, measurement, layout, alignment and bonding
- Work from electrical drawings/diagrams
- Self-inspection of all work produced
- Maintain accurate bookings of jobs within our computer system.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- To build products to the required standard ensuring
- The correct top level TQ number has been picked
- Check the build pack to ensure all drawings are the correct issue
- Ensure all hours are booked using the Dart System
- Check all parts are correct, in good condition and free from marks/scratches before fitting
- To produce strain gauges to the required standards ensuring
- The required surface preparation of the strain gauge, measurement, layout, alignment and bonding is adhered to
- Report any problems to the Assembly Manager
- Self-inspection of all work produced
- To assist in other departments when required
- To carry out maintenance duties as requested by the Assembly Manager
- To maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Essential Experience from Candidate:
- Relevant previous electrical fitting experience
- Previous panel wiring experience
- High quality soldering
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to meet deadlines
- High accuracy and attention to detail including fine/small soldering
- Work in a precise neat way
- Work alongside/with mechanical fitters
Desirable Experience from Candidate:
- Previous experience soldering and wiring PCB’s
- Knowledge of strain gauge
- Knowledge of strain gauge bridges wiring
- Ability to work to ISO9001 procedures
- Relevant qualifications
- Experience of building educational equipment/products
