The Role:
The Council’s Place-shaping and Economic Growth Service is continuing to invest in the Development Management service. We are looking for three Development Management Officers (Place Shaping and Economic Growth, Development Management and Building Control, and Development Management Officers) to help us deliver sustainable, high quality homes and jobs across our diverse and characterful district.
In this role, you will handle applications for planning permission and other consents. You will also provide advice and guidance in the pursuit of sustainable development and change. The post also includes working with senior officers on exciting major developments and developing a wide range of experience and learning.
This post has a ‘career grade’, so there are opportunities available to progress to more complex and challenging work as you develop in the role.
The Candidate:
The Development Management Officer role operates on a career grade meaning we are looking for people who might have different qualifications and levels of experience. You may have A-levels and have not made a decision whether to go to University, or you may be a graduate in a field outside of planning who has an interest in developing a career in the subject, a newly qualified planner looking for your first role or a planner currently in work seeking opportunities to further develop your career – we would love to hear from you all. We offer full training and support, and also support further qualification through the RTPI Apprenticeship Scheme. Applicants must hold a full driving licence.
