Salary: £10.25 – £10.50 per hour

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operative to join our despatch warehouse in Haslingden. Reporting to the Logistics Manager you will work alongside other members of the warehouse team to offload finished goods pallets from our production warehouse, check, locate and scan them into our racking. Also to pick from said locations and ensure pallets are loaded onto vehicles for delivery to the customer in good condition and on time. Will also be required for cover at the production warehouse on occasion.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assist in the movement and efficient safe storage of finished goods pallets and accurately record pallet locations via handheld scanner onto the system.
  • Ensure condition of pallets, labels and quantities are correct prior to despatch.
  • Assist in the offloading of finished goods and raw materials into warehouse, making sure to check the loads are accurate before signing PODs.
  • Pick finished goods pallets from a daily despatch list and ensure all are loaded onto vehicles in good condition for distribution to customers
  • Identify any issues with pallets and report as an internal complaint with the Logistics Manager.
  • To comply with all training and safe working practices as directed that relate to warehouse functions. Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety procedures, reporting any relevant information to the Logistics Manager.
  • To ensure FLTs are operated safely and efficiently with the training given.
  • To ensure working area is kept appropriately clean and well organised.

The Candidate:

  • Must be organised and have good practical skills.
  • Must be a good communicator.
  • Must be a team player – but can also work on own initiative.
  • Must be a good problem solver.

Knowledge, Training and Experience required:

  • Essential – Educated to GCSE level – English and Maths
  • Warehouse/FLT (Electric 2T Truck/Reach Truck) experience preferred but will also give training to the right applicant. Recruits will be put through in-house test.
  • Car/Driving licence required.
