The Role
As such they’re currently looking for a new leader for the Design Services Team, who is enthusiastic, passionate and visionary; who demands commitment and results but is able to lead and motivate their people with respect and empathy. You’ll need to be a strong performer with a credible track record in success.
Being a specialist in your field, you will be responsible for shaping the Design Services Team agenda, including architecture and design, feasibility studies, building surveying, quantity surveying & cost management and construction related H&S and CDM regulations. A background in the private or public sector – or both – is welcomed.
This management post provides an ideal career opportunity for a motivated building services professional in a core city with a significant property portfolio. You will manage an experienced team of 18 colleagues.

The successful candidate will have experience of providing effective leadership, transformational change and developing a strong performance culture. Commercial growth is at the heart of their strategy and you will drive growth in their business.
Proven experience and a track record of success in a construction related environment is essential, along with an aptitude to work closely with councillors, partners and colleagues to continue to deliver the Council’s vision for the City.
