Responsibilities:
Product Design and Development:
- Design intricate product components, assemblies, tooling, and machinery that align with client specifications and industry standards.
- Develop innovative concepts for manufacturing, ensuring designs are optimized for efficiency and effectiveness.
Technical Documentation:
- Produce comprehensive 2D drawings, 3D models, concepts, assemblies, and parts lists, maintaining precision and clarity throughout the design process.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate seamlessly with internal colleagues, external suppliers, and clients to ensure a cohesive and streamlined design process.
- Interpret client specifications and visions, ranging from detailed written specifications to verbal ideas, and transform them into tangible design solutions.
Technical Expertise:
- Demonstrate expertise in Mechanical Design, with a strong focus on motors & drives, hydraulics & pneumatics, and automation & robotics.
- Utilize CAD packages, particularly showcasing a deep understanding of Autodesk software, to create detailed and accurate designs.
End-to-End Design Process:
- Take ownership of designs from conceptualization through to the final manufacturing stage, ensuring continuity and quality throughout the entire process.
Deadline Management:
- Work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines without compromising the quality and precision of designs.
Industry Knowledge:
- Leverage your experience in the manufacturing industry, with a particular emphasis on Aerospace and Automotive sectors.
- Possess knowledge of regulatory standards such as UKCA Marking, PUWER, LOLER, and Machinery Safety Directive.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a time-served engineer specializing in Mechanical Design.
- In-depth knowledge of motors & drives, hydraulics & pneumatics, automation and
- Proficiency in CAD packages, with a focus on Autodesk software.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards including UKCA Marking, PUWER, LOLER, and Machinery Safety Directive.
