About The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Manufacturing team in a newly created permanent position as a design engineer.
An ideal opportunity to progress the role, the right candidate will have proven experience and knowledge of lean engineering manufacture to include materials, tools and design.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Taking a lead on all research and development work
- Take ideas from concept to design, being active in the manufacturing and installation
- Produce 2D and 3D outputs using Solidworks software
- Being responsible to day to day drawings
- Taking a project lead on new machine builds
- Maintain and liaise with existing customers as well as create new positive relationships with potential customers.
- Visiting multiple sites to gain information and to aid design of bespoke parts
- Disassembly – sketch and design
- Calculations of materials and schedules
About You:
The successful candidate should have proven experience in engineering design and manufacture, experience with the use of measuring equipment such as micrometres and possess excellent communication skills to converse at all levels. The role will involve creating technical drawings for bespoke parts, repairs, replacements as well as full machine builds. Taking a lead role in ideas from concept to design as well as being involved in the manufacturing and installation processes.
Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge of Solidworks Software
- Good understanding of engineering materials tools and tech
- Ability to build and sustain positive relationships
- Time management, identify problems and offer solutions.
- Driving licence.
Preferred but not essential:
- HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
