About the Role:
Over the past 70 years, The Mulberry Bush School has established an international reputation as a provider of the highest quality specialist therapeutic care to children, aged 5 to 13, who have been made vulnerable by their severe social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Promotion of the current jobholder has resulted in the need to find a compassionate but resilient individual with extensive, successful experience as a team leader in a children’s residential environment. It is a key role because you will become the role model for our care team working to promote, maintain and support our therapeutic approach and standards which are at the core of treatment throughout the children’s placements.
Working with all of the five residential homes on our site, you will work closely and in partnership with the Head of Care to ensure all aspects of the residential therapeutic task are implemented effectively. You will also provide day-to-day leadership, motivation, guidance, organisation, advice, support and supervision to every member of our professional, well-qualified care team.
About you:
Holding a relevant qualification at Level 5 or above, extensive experience of managing residential services for children and young people who have displayed challenging behaviour as a consequence of early years trauma is essential. Your empathy and adaptability will provide you with the ability to adjust to the emotional state of our community and its members – both children and staff. In addition, you must possess a thorough knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and legislation, policies and government guidance relating to the safeguarding of children.
