About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Housekeeper to assist our Executive Head Housekeeper in managing all aspects of the Housekeeping department and in house Laundry. This senior position is pivotal in fulfilling the outstanding experiences that our guests enjoy whilst staying at Ashdown Park. We have the added benefit of an established and dedicated Housekeeping and Laundry team already in place who work their magic behind the scenes, ensuring that the specified standards of performance are maintained whilst achieving maximum guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Through communication with other departments to be constantly aware of guest’s needs and ensure that staff within remit recognise the expectations of guests.
- To assist the Head Housekeeper in the smooth and efficient running of the laundry.
- To anticipate guest requirements and take appropriate action to avoid guest complaints. To ensure that any guest complaints are resolved and followed up, reporting all incidents to the Executive Head Housekeeper and logging them in the handover book.
- To take responsibility for a smooth and efficient daily co-ordination of all Housekeeping activities. To check that special guest requests have been attended to. Liaise between Housekeeping and Reception concerning status and availability of rooms.
- To prepare flowers for guest’s rooms and liaise with the Florist for all floral requirements.
- To issue uniforms to all new starters and order according to stock requirements.
- To act as an ambassador for all areas of the Hotel, proactively familiarising yourself with our product and promoting the image of the Hotel at all times.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working within a quality hotel operation
- Be a practical hands-on housekeeper with excellent attention to detail and the ability to train team members
- Be competent with Health and Safety regulations
- Able to deputise for the Executive Head Housekeeper when required, taking responsibility for the day to day running of the department
