Job Title: Delivery Driver

The Plumbing Distribution Company Ltd is a thriving B2B distribution business known for delivering high quality plumbing products and superior service to our customers. With a strong commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, we have been serving our merchants for 17 years and with a focus on continuous improvement, our family run business is seeking a dedicated and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team and lead our operations to new heights.
Duties – Position will include but are not limited to:
- Loading, transporting and delivery of items from PDC’s warehouse to clients or businesses in a safe and timely manner.
- Review of Orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete.
- Ensure safe loading and secure contents inside vehicle.
- Use of navigation tools, including Max Optra software, to arrive at the correct address via safest and quickest route.
- Ensuring customer signs for their order as Proof of Delivery
- To report and damage, accident or collisions as soon as safely possible.
- Driver and van safety compliance, completing daily and weekly van checks and submitting fuel receipts.
- Responsibility for vehicle safety checks ensuring sufficient fuel is available and vehicle complies with road safety standards.
Required:
- Experience of driving a 3.5t long wheelbase van
- Aged over 25, due to insurance requirements
- Ability to organize and prioritize
- Understanding of Working Time Regulations
- Good geographical knowledge of UK road network
- Ability to self-manage and motivate
- Maths and English at GCSE Grade C or 4
Desired:
- Customer service experience
Please note that we are based in East Hanningfield (CM3 8EB) and you must be a Driver with permanent access to a car as we are not accessible in any way via public transport!
