What is expected of you?
To provide advice and representation for clients whilst handling a demanding caseload of criminal matters.
What Will the role involve?
Our Criminal Law team are on the lookout for a Criminal Law Solicitor 1-4 Years PQE, to join our vibrant Leeds city centre team. This is the perfect opportunity for a recently qualified Solicitor or an experience Solicitor looking for a new challenge.
In this role you’ll undertake Police Station, Magistrates’ Court and – if appropriate – Crown Court work. You’ll handle a range of criminal cases, from initial client consultations to court representation. You can expect to be working on some of the following:
- Representing clients detained at police stations
- Attending police stations
- Drafting instructions to counsel and expert witnesses
- Magistrates’ and Crown Court cases
- Appeals in the Court of Appeal
- Bail applications
- Other duties in line with the role of a Criminal Law Solicitor
We’re looking for a Qualified Solicitor who has a proven track record in handling criminal cases from start to finish. Recently qualified Solicitors will be considered but duty accreditation is essential.
To do well in this role you’ll need to be personable with excellent communication skills, able to meet tight deadlines and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
