The Role:
This role is suitable for an experienced Surveyor/Project Manager/QS/Contract Manager or someone who is looking to develop into this role.
As part of this role, you will have management and overall control of individual contracts. Working closely with other members of the Contract Team they will be responsible for ensuring projects are profitable and dealt with efficiently whilst maintaining high levels of customer service. The Contract Manager will also be required to carry out initial visits to properties, scope repairs and submit estimates/quotations.
Support and mentorship are available for those looking to develop, although the role can be fast paced and applicants must have a good work ethic.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Carry out initial surveys, preparing and submitting schedules of repair.
- Follow schedule approval and have responsibility for the management and overall control of individual repair projects.
- Ensure projects are completed to a good standard and in line with Client expectations
- Manage costs effectively and ensure jobs are profitable
- Understand and strive to achieve Client Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
- Deal promptly with any complaints in accordance with Company procedure
Experience and skills:
Essential
- Significant experience as a Contracts Manager
- Good knowledge of general building practices and finishing trades, especially to domestic properties.
- Excellent communication skills both internally and with external clients/customers
- Good verbal comprehension and written communication skills
- Sound knowledge of building processes and requirements
Desirable
- Qualified to Degree level in construction or related discipline
- 5 years’ experience of a similar job role
- Valid qualification in Site Managers Safety Training Scheme
- Experience of working with subsidence repairs.
- Experience working within insured building repairs
- Experience of estimating packages
