The Organisation is the independent charity responsible for the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House – Whitehall, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. They help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society, in some of the greatest palaces ever built.
They are currently seeking a Visitor Services Content Writer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced digital content professional who will take ownership for the development, delivery, monitoring and review of the Operational Business Content Plan, operational elements of the Commercial Content Plan (where appropriate); and lead on production of specific commercial and operational content for the Organisation’s digital channels.
Role Overview:
Your role will be to co-ordinate input from relevant stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the Operational Content Plan and operational elements of the Commercial Content Plan. You will be expected to liaise with other internal departments, and across palaces to ensure that operational digital content is produced in line with other digital content areas and their strategic objectives. Your role will be to publish content created on digital channels, and liaise with channel administrators (i.e. approvers with digital channel publishing rights) to maintain live content and ensure that operational information is always accurate.
Your challenge will be to manage the development of, and facilitate the roll-out of business processes to enable the efficient and effective on-going development of operational digital content across the Organisation.
The Candidate:
Educated to degree level, or equivalent, ideally you will have a Level 3 Diploma or above in Journalism. To be successful in this role you will have significant experience of writing and editing digital content using a journalistic writing style. You will have experience of commissioning digital assets, and specifying requirements and of stakeholder management in a multi-disciplinary setting.
With a good eye for detail, and excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation skills, you will be a highly organised individual with the ability to successfully work to tight deadlines. Naturally, you will have an understanding of the specific requirements of writing for digital channels and a good understanding of the importance of using appropriate digital assets to bring written digital content to life.
