We are urgently recruiting a number of Community Carers to join our CQC ‘Outstanding’ rated Team and can offer a range of flexible hours. Our Community Carers currently work 6 hours shifts, 7-1pm or 4 – 10pm, 365 days a year, including Bank Holidays and Weekends. We are able to offer a range of flexible working patterns on fixed rotas up to 36 hours per week.
The Role:
You will be providing person centred care and support to help individuals regain skills to live independently and safely in their own home. This will include working independently in carrying out care plans, rehabilitation, administering medication, providing emotional support and delivering all aspects of personal care.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- To enable patients to maintain their everyday personal skills such as eating, dressing, washing, hygiene and using the toilet. This may at times include hands-on assistance; however, the emphasis is on independence.
- Using appropriate moving and handling techniques or assessed/provided equipment as necessary to meet the assessed needs of each individual, at all times respecting their need for independence, dignity and privacy.
- To support patients with varying health conditions and diseases, working in partnership with internal and external agencies, ensuring that individual needs are assessed and met.
- To support patients with the administration of medication.
- To undertake risk assessments before providing assessments to ensure that the individual is able to participate and able to continue with goals set.
- To ensure that all records and case files of a patients are properly maintained, with full regard to the need to record the views of patients and third parties
- To attend mandatory and competency training regularly to ensure that skills are developed as required
Knowledge, Experience Skills and Abilities:
- Experience of working in a care environment would be advantageous but full training will be given to successful candidates
- Good communication skills with ability to deal with sensitive issues
- Ability to work effectively alone or within a team
- Good oral and written skills to ensure accurate recording
- Must hold full driving licence and access to car (essential)
