Communications Engagement Officer
Location: London
Salary: £29,580 per year.
Job type: 35 hours per week. Hybrid working. Position also available in Dover.

The Role:
We are currently looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer to join our warm, friendly and supportive Communications team, on a Permanent Contract.
As part of the communications team, you will play an important role in managing stakeholder relationships and promoting partnership working with other organisations within the sector. The successful candidate will help to promote the charity to relevant bodies and help build partnerships for joint campaigns and other activities. You will also focus on building strong relationships with our clients, ensuring that their voices are heard and reflected in our communications activities.
Duties and responsibilities:
Stakeholder relationships:
- Promote the organisation to relevant bodies / key decision makers in the public, private and voluntary sectors
- Help build partnerships for joint campaigns and other activities
- Establish regular communications with stakeholders, both internal and external
Client relationships:
- Give Migrant Help clients a voice across all communications activities
- Collate case studies and client stories
- Build relationships across all operational services and Lived Experience Advisory Panels to build engagement with communications activities
You will also:
- Contribute to the implementation of Migrant Help’s communications strategies
- Support the organisation’s public relations activities and campaigns, including media engagement
- Increase the organisation’s visibility while protecting and enhancing its reputation and promoting its work, values and key messages
- Support the charity’s fundraising and tendering projects
- Contribute to effective internal and external communications for Migrant Help, including media and supporter engagement
- Provide support in other areas of communications and with events as required
Experience and skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills/ability to communicate with diverse groups
- Proven experience of stakeholder management and building successful partnerships
- Experience of successfully supporting communications teams on a wide range of communications matters
- Ability to summarise complex information in lively and compelling ways for different channels and audiences
- Highly motivated with an interest in communications
- Ability to influence, persuade and negotiate
- Excellent at networking and making new contacts and connections (e.g., journalists, editors, other sector organisations)
