Job Title: CNC Miller

Location: Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire

Salary: Competitive

Job Type: 37 hours per week – 7.00am to 3.30pm Mon-Thurs (30 mins lunch), 7.00am to 12.00pm Fri (no lunchbreak)

The role:

Are you a self-motivated time served CNC miller, who thrives in a demanding and varied work environment working consistently to a very high standard? You will be able to manufacture a wide range of components from a range of materials including mild steel, aluminium, brass and some plastics

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Programming, Setting and Operating 3 axis Haas CNC Milling Machines within a low volume, small batch environment
  • Self-inspection of components using manual measuring equipment
  • Creation of programmes, jigs & fixtures for new components
  • Ensure manufactured parts are produced in the most efficient manner.
  • Setting and running multiple machines when the component and/or batch sizes allow.

Essential Experience from Candidate:

  • Programming, setting and operating experience of CNC Milling machinery – preferably HAAS Machinery.
  • CNC Milling experience within a similar hi-tech environment – ideally apprentice trained
  • Able to work accurately to deadlines.
  • An ability to read 1st and 3rd angle engineering drawings.
  • An enthusiastic team player with a can-do/flexible attitude
  • Continual process improvement attitude.

Desirable Experience from Candidate:

  • Relevant qualifications:
    • ONC Mechanical Engineering,
    • HNC Mechanical Engineering,
    • City and Guilds in Machining Practices
    • Level 2/Level 3 in CNC Machining
  • A willingness to help in other areas of the factory should the demand arise.
  • Conventional Milling/Bridgeport experience
  • Experience of programming with Edgecam
  • Manual and/or CNC Turning experience
