Job Title: CNC Miller

Salary: £24,000 – £26,500
Job Type: 37 hours per week – 7.00am to 3.30pm Mon-Thurs (30 mins lunch), 7.00am to 12.00pm Fri (no lunchbreak)

The role:
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced CNC Miller to join our busy and highly motivated team on a permanent contract, within our Covid secure working environment.
- The work is varied, interesting and demanding and we expect high standards for quality and performance.
- With a time served background you will be expected to manufacture a wide range of steel and aluminium components on our HAAS CNC Milling machines.
- You will join our manufacturing department, ensuring that quality standards are met on all components, by following company processes, and procedures. Our products are designed to support the teaching of engineering principles, and all the finished work is visible to the end customers.
- We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent quality of finish and it is therefore imperative that you have great attention to detail and work to an exceptionally neat standard. Your main responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Programming, Setting and Operating 3 axis Haas CNC Milling Machines within a low volume, small batch environment
- Self-inspection of components using manual measuring equipment
- Creation of programmes, jigs & fixtures for new components
- Ensure manufactured parts are produced in the most efficient manner.
- Setting and running multiple machines when the component and/or batch sizes allow.
Essential Experience from Candidate:
- Programming, setting and operating experience of CNC Milling machinery – preferably HAAS Machinery.
- CNC Milling experience within a similar hi-tech environment – ideally apprentice trained
- Able to work accurately to deadlines.
- An ability to read 1st and 3rd angle engineering drawings.
- An enthusiastic team player with a can-do/flexible attitude
- Continual process improvement attitude.
Desirable Experience from Candidate:
- Relevant qualifications.
- A willingness to help in other areas of the factory should the demand arise.
- Conventional Milling/Bridgeport experience
- Experience of programming with Edgecam
- Manual and/or CNC Turning experience
