Hours: 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30am to 5pm Friday

About the role:

Express Solicitors is currently in an exciting growth phase and our Clinical Negligence team is undergoing positive expansion. Due to successful marketing, we are receiving a significant number of new clinical negligence cases and now looking to recruit an additional Fee Earner.

The role offers genuine progression opportunities and ideally, we would like to recruit an individual who wants to develop their career and strive towards Associate Status, in the future.

We are currently looking for an additional lawyer to join our Clinical Negligence department. Ideally 1 to 5 years PQE/ Cilex or alternatively, qualified by experience. Tenacity, ability and enthusiasm are key skills in helping to get the best results for our clients.

The caseload will be a mixed range of clinical negligence work, both pre issue and issued cases, up to a value to £75,000 (although more complex cases are available for the right candidate). You must have clinical negligence experience and be able to work for candidates with empathy and understanding.

The role will also involve invaluable and rare experience in working with the Head of Department and assisting with higher value catastrophic injury, clinical negligence cases, including birth injury.

We are looking for an individual who has a keen eye for detail but is always aware of the larger picture. Someone who can balance the needs of the individual client while progressing their whole caseload.

About you:

  • Experience of clinical negligence work
  • Proven billing track record of handling a caseload, including issued cases.
  • Genuine tenacity. Confidence in dealing with and using the CPR to win.
  • Excellent client care ability, with a passion for achieving the best possible outcome for our clients.
  • Knowledge of Proclaim case management system.
  • Organised and efficient
  • Willing to act as a team player to help the continued success of the team.
  • Will consider applicants with very strong PI skills (non-portal work) and experience of high value cases.

  • A basic salary up to £65,000 depending on experience. Along with a very generous commission scheme, paid monthly in arrears.
  • Our standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:30am Monday-Thursday and 8:30am to 5pm Friday. There is a degree of flexibility which can be discussed at interview.
