Job Role:
The Trust is looking for a full-time (35 hrs per week) experienced Cleaning Supervisor to work across its housing and care services. The post holder will be based in Olton, Solihull but will oversee a team of staff working across their independent living and residential care services (approx. 7 hrs/wk) as well as participating on a cleaning rota themselves (28 hrs/wk). As the Cleaning Supervisor, you will ensure that the Trust provides a first class cleaning service across all of its sites and to residents who purchase a private service from the Trust

Job Duties:
Key responsibilities:
- To undertake all aspects of general cleaning duties as required in both a planned and responsive way
- Understand the needs of and build excellent relationships with the people who live within and work at the schemes
- To ensure that all paperwork is completed daily by yourself and your team.
- To ensure that confidentiality is maintained
- To promote paid for domestic services to residents within the Trust’s Independent Living Schemes
- To ensure that new private clients have a domestic service agreement in place, setting out tasks expected, frequency and costs
Staff Management
- The supervision and support of all cleaning staff; focussing on their performance in terms of standards of cleanliness and their behaviour whilst on duty
- To run staff meetings and support delivery of staff training where applicable
- To induct new staff and support the training of the team
- Managing staff rotas and covering shifts as required
- Monitoring of all cleaning activities; including planned and unplanned inspections and audits
- Ensuring all staff are aware of and comply with relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures
Resources and Health & Safety
- Monitor and replenish cleaning materials and resources
- To ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order, reporting any faults to the appropriate Manager
- To ensure that cleaning materials are used appropriately, in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and COSHH regulations
Key Requirements:
- An enhanced DBS check will be taken up for the successful candidate
- The post holder will be asked to fulfil a wide range of duties, so a flexible, methodical and organised approach is required
- As part of a small team you will need to be reliable and able to maintain an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping
- You will need to achieve and complete works sometimes to strict timescales, and completing jobs to a high standard is of paramount importance
- The Trust is very much a customer service organisation and therefore all employees must treat the residents with courtesy, respect and dignity at all times
- You will be expected to have considerable previous experience in this type of work, ideally in a housing/care environment
- Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage
- Full driving licence
