The Role:
We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer to be the right-hand person to our Chief Executive Officer in leading the business to the next stage of growth.
The Chief Operating Officer has strong leadership skills and the ability to approach business with a creative point of view. The COO will lead a team of high-performing professionals to be efficient, productive, and effective.
Objectives of this role
- Develop operating plans to support delivery of organisational objectives, centred around delivering exceptional customer experience and profitable volume growth.
- Guide strategic decision-making and operational activities across all business areas.
- Work closely with the board to develop and communicate the strategic objectives to fulfil the requirements of key stakeholders and promote its long-term success.
- Act as a change leader in driving cultural and process changes that are required to support the business plan.
- Developing the best elements of the existing company culture, you will coach the team and improve people and process performance to increase capacity and productivity.
- To implement methods to improve, innovate and provide operational efficiency and productivity, whilst managing costs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant bodies/regulations and take appropriate action to address shortfalls/gaps when necessary.
Main Responsibilities
- Analyse internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement.
- Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with CEO.
- To be responsible for overall operation of the business, ensuring that all departments are aligned, and close working relationships are forged.
- Work with CEO and CFO to ensure that sufficient investment capital can be budgeted for growth targets.
- Drive cost efficiencies and the productivity levels for the group operations to ensure EBITDA targets are met.
- Develop a strong human capital pipeline for continued growth by ensuring robust Recruitment and Training Plans are in place for every area of the business.
- Monitor performance and take corrective measures when necessary and prepare detailed updates and forecasts.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Required skills and qualifications.
- Has operated in a large, corporate environment such as a PLC, that has experienced a growth journey, in which you have played a key role in supporting the company growth, whilst maintaining first class customer operational support and integration.
- Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
- Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
- Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
