Job Title: Careers Consultant
Location: Leeds – Hybrid
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000
Job Type: Permanent / Full-time – Working Hours – 36 hours a week over 4.5 days.
Northcoders is an industry-leading and industry-led coding school. We have incredible links with tech businesses which enables us to create life changing outcomes for our students. We are now hiring a Careers Consultant to help us promote those industry links to our students, liaise with our hiring partners, attract new tech businesses whilst promoting our commercial services.

About the job:
We are looking for a dedicated and organised individual to join our Careers team.
This team is responsible for providing careers guidance and support to our student community and guiding them into their first roles in tech.
Key Responsibilities:
Your role will include:
- Maintaining regular lines of communications with the students
- Managing your own pipeline of Northcoders students, providing 1:2:1 support including career guidance interviews
- Support the placements team in organising and hosting Hiring Partner Pitches
- Keeping our reporting processes up to date
- Identify when an existing partner presents a wider partnerships opportunity
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
These are the skills and traits that you need to have to be considered for this role:
- Strong organisational skills required
- Previous experience in a careers coach or similar role
- Level 2 Information, Advice and Guidance qualification or willingness to undertake
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own pipeline
- Strong verbal communication skills are a must with a friendly attitude
- Excellent writing skills
- Initiative? You’ll have plenty! We’re a growing business, so we want to meet a self-starter
- Curiosity is important, because there’s a lot of to learn at Northcoders
- Although you will your own workload, you must be a team player
- Confident and comfortable speaking to Northcoders and Tech Returner students

- Experience using CRM systems (Hubspot or similar)
- You should have at least a passing interest in learning about tech (we’re a tech company!)
- Safeguarding: We are an education provider. You may have responsibility for, and contact with, children, young people or vulnerable adults. Any previous experience is advantageous

Salary: £28,000 – £30,000
Location: Leeds based location, but Manchester based candidates will also be considered
