Grasmere Rest Home is a privately-run residential care home looking for someone with a genuine interest in working within a caring environment to become our Team Leader for the day shift. There is currently one role available.
The Role:
This outlines the main duties of the post. It is not intended as an exhaustive list. Our company values are an integral part of life at our home and they are woven into our day to day roles. - Support the Manager during change overs, medication, pharmacy reviews and act as deputy when the manager is off-site (during inspections, visits etc)
- Have a passion for leadership – delegating, assisting and advising staff as well as assisting with the organisation, supervision and appraisal of staff.
- Pay attention to care plans and risk assessments and key worker records, and report to the manager any changes in a service users’ circumstances or care
- Show dedication towards providing the highest standards of care and dealing with service users in a way that respects their dignity and promotes independence.
- Have empathy towards service users and other staff, having a willingness to help in the care of the service users’ physical environment and in the general day to day activities of the home
Person Specification:
- To have strong leadership skills, be passionate, dedicated, reliable, enthusiastic and to be able to support management
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Team Player, supporting the Team Leads, with ability to accept responsibilities
- Willingness to participate in vocational training programmes
- Satisfactory DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check and Adult First
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience of working in a Team Leader/ Management position within a care setting
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care achieved (or working towards)
- Evidence of having undertaken relevant training (i.e. moving & handling, health & safety, food hygiene, etc.)
- Basic understanding of the Health & Safety & Infection Control
