The Role:
We are looking for Support Workers to work as part of our amazing team to support service users in our 6-bed all male service in Brinsley, Nottingham. All of our service users are active and we are looking for someone who can support in a wide variety of activities such as horse riding, Bowling and hydrotherapy. You will be assisting in all aspects of daily living as well as supporting with personal care. Our shifts in the daytime range from 8am – 9pm and the rota may also include some waking night shifts.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- To support the delivery of person centred care.
- To ensure along with your colleagues, that residents are enabled and supported to develop a lifestyle that is meaningful and satisfying. Enabling them to live a full and independent life as possible.
- To ensure the support is reflective of the company policies and procedures.
- Provide personal care needs as required to support the residents.
- To undertake housekeeping duties (cleaning, cooking, ironing, etc), and encouraging residents to take part in these activities, ensuring a healthy environment for all that use our services.
- To read and update support plans/risk assessments to ensure they remain reflective of the needs of the residents we support.
- To support individual resident’s health needs including attend appointments such as Doctors, Hospital, Dentist etc.
- To assist key workers supporting individuals to maintain links with family, friends and care workers/other professionals as required.
- To ensure accurate records are completed and correctly stored, and updated/reviewed at agreed intervals.
- To support quality assurance checks on the home.
The Candidate:
Essential:
- Basic command of the English language to enable effective communication with our residents is essential.
- Willingness to attend training sessions/ commitment to professional development is essential.
- Literacy abilities to understand and follow support plans are essential.
- Ability to complete basic domestic tasks – cooking, cleaning, shopping is essential.
