SJMT has full-time (35 hrs per week) vacancies for Care Assistants to work shifts at Alexandra House, the Trust’s residential care home and Alexandra Court, the Extra Care Scheme here in Solihull.
No two days are the same but you will assist residents with their personal care, promote activities, help with meal times whilst at all times ensuring dignity and respect are maintained for those that use the Trust’s care service.
For more experienced care assistants we can also offer ‘Shift Lead’ opportunities where you will delegate and participate in task completion and provide updates to the manager or on call manager as required. Tasks may include dealing with incidents, managing visitors to the building, taking telephone calls relating to residents’ care, ensuring comprehensive handovers are completed and leading on care activities for that shift.
Key things about you:
- Some experience in long term care, assisted living or home care is desirable but not essential, full training will be provided.
- Car drivers are required for the domiciliary roles in the Extra Care Scheme
- ability to handle multiple priorities
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Exhibit a caring and compassionate attitude while articulating true concern for people
- An enhanced DBS check will be taken up for successful candidates
