Job Type: Full time, permanent – 37.5 hours per week

Job Purpose:
Responsible for purchasing materials, consumables and services in a timely, cost-effective manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for purchasing materials, consumables and services in a timely, cost-effective manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.
- Source material and place orders for non-inventory material and services.
- Prepare and send purchase requisitions to suppliers to obtain the most competitive quote for raw material, consumables and services to contract requirements. Review quotations received.
- Negotiate with supplier to ensure the most competitive price is paid for raw material, consumables and services. Negotiate long and short-term supply agreements for all materials.
- Day to day dealing with suppliers in order to develop relationships with key suppliers and build effective partnerships.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policy and terms and conditions.
- Track purchasing activity to ensure goods are delivered on time.
- Developing and implement purchasing strategies for products and services maintaining the approved supplier list. Ensure all valid supplier certification is maintained in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Resolve material supply issues on an on-going basis involving internal and external resources.
- Manage and maintain good orderly records both electronically and hard copies.
- Regularly review purchase prices to maintain best buying practice.
