The Role
At Easby Electronics we are seeking a Buyer to join our purchasing team. The role will involve working closely internally with purchasing, sales, warehouse and finance colleagues, and externally with suppliers and customers.
We are a successful, growing company, and this role will support our core business of electronic component distribution, by ensuring we can source and deliver the items our customers need.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock ordering and back-to-back ordering
- Negotiating with suppliers to achieve value for money, including on payment, delivery and shipping terms
- Reviewing lead times, minimum order quantities, shipping etc. to ensure the most suitable supplier is selected
- Liaising and negotiating with shipping companies
- Monitoring stock levels
- Maintaining and managing purchase orders
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers (both ad-hoc and franchise suppliers), customers and colleagues
- Ship and debit
- Supporting the purchasing manager and wider team with ad-hoc tasks as required

The Person
The key skills, knowledge and experience we’re looking for are:
- Experience of procurement
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organisational skills; able to manage own time and work effectively
- Strong team player
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Experience within electronic components distribution is advantageous but not essential
