Role Purpose:
If you are a self-starter with a keen eye for detail, and excellent communication and teamwork skills, our Business Support Manager opportunity could be the role for you. We open up routes to tech & digital employment by promoting degrees, apprenticeships and training programmes which are valued by industry. Our Business Support Manager will enable the whole team to operate effectively and efficiently as we implement our ambitious growth plans.
This role could suit individuals with experience as a business manager, administrator, project manager or bursar in the education and training sector or industry.
Key responsibilities:
Business management:
- Provide up to date management information by tracking key business metrics and performance indicators across the organisation
- Manage business processes such as tracking the progress of contracts, ensuring invoices are raised, accreditations are scheduled, and that managers are aware of any issues
- Manage the internal TechSkills calendar, liaising with colleagues to ensure that processes such as re-accreditation and training programme quality assurance are executed on time
- Identify and implement new or improved systems and processes to increase quality and efficiency, including using relevant software applications
- Oversee data management, including ensuring compliance with GDPR procedures such as deletion of data records
Delivery responsibilities:
- Act as a first point of contact for general external enquiries
- Issue digital credentials based on data received from learning providers (following training on the use of the software)
- Schedule meetings involving external parties
- Ensure external documentation is up to date and highlighting to colleagues when updates are needed
- Use data analysis skills to interrogate spreadsheets and produce summary information for the wider team and for external use
Other team support:
- Support internal meetings, handling agendas, minutes and follow up as required
- Support events, for example obtaining quotes, booking venues and liaising with third parties on logistics
- Support marketing, for example implementing updates to the company website and literature
- Support the CEO with administrative work
Person Specification
Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Management of business information systems and processes
- Relationship / Stakeholder Management
- Data analysis (spreadsheets, databases) to extract and present business intelligence
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Collaborative teamwork and adaptability
- Proactivity, able to organise, plan and deliver effectively whether working alone or with others

Essential Knowledge and Experience:
- Business administration & office management
- Working knowledge of relevant policies and practices including GDPR
- Digital confidence and use of software to improve efficiency
Desired knowledge and experience:
- Education, apprenticeships or skills
- CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics
- Financial management
- Project management
Additional Information:
This is a part-time role Monday to Friday (5 hours per day, 25 hours per week). The role is Home based, with occasional travel within the UK. You will report to the Head of Service Delivery and work closely with colleagues across the organisation.
