About the role:
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to work across South Kent to support Countrystyle in its track record of spotting opportunities, understanding the market and driving innovative solutions to deliver customers with a reliable service that helps them to reduce their impact on the environment.
Main Job Functions:

To have a key role in the growth of new larger accounts within Countrystyle’s Kent & South East division.
Main Duties Principle Responsibilities
- Using the Sales and Marketing strategy to identify, target and sell, Countrystyle’s services to businesses within Kent and the Southeast, to achieve annual revenue/spend target and objectives.
- Sign new contracted business with the aim of developing and growing Countrystyle’s portfolio of larger business accounts.
- Sell services that fit Countrystyle’s ability to deliver and manage customer’s expectations, whilst delivering a one-stop-shop/total waste management ethos.
- Be the primary interface between Countrystyle and its target customers.
- Be responsible for your sales prospecting, pricing negotiations and customer contracts. Respond in a timely manner to all leads and introductions through the business lead portals.
- Agree key target customers and contact strategy with Sales Director on a regular basis, to ensure they match the overall team goals.
- Liaise with Sales Director and Operations to understand the services and solutions deliverable in our core territory.
- Consult with Sales Director and BDM colleagues regarding proposals for larger customers, especially where they require detailed Total Waste Management Solutions.
- Promote Countrystyle’s Total Waste Management Services, including but not limited to, Wheelie Bins (General Trade Waste, Recycling, Cardboard and Paper), REL’s, Skips, Roro’s, Secure Shredding, Food Services, Glass Services, Hazardous Waste, Clinical Waste and Tankering.
- Also, to promote the sale or lease, of Compactor and Baling equipment, where required.
- Deliver profitable new revenue streams across the full range of services provided by Countrystyle.
- Plan and attend customer appointments in a timely and professional manner.
- Attend regular sales meetings, to review prospect activity, solutions and results
- Maintain CRM regarding all customer details and prospecting activity. Produce monthly activity reports, detailing all pipeline activity and progress, keeping accurate record of all contacts and discussions.
- Monitor and report on all competitor and market activity encountered.
- Work with Countrystyle employees to build knowledge, improve the sales process and develop a profitable business and relationships.
- Carry out full waste management audits for targeted customers to supply a comprehensive Waste Solution / Proposal and recommendations.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, HR, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures.

Experience:
- Experience in the Waste industry
- Previous experience of working to demanding deadlines.
- Experience of using a CRM system
- Minimum 2 years experience selling in the waste sector (Desirable)
- Experience of working in a similar field in sales (Desirable)
Qualifications:
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient in the use of CRM systems
- Degree or equivalent qualification (Desirable)
