Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Haslingden

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Job Purpose:

  • To lead the external sales team in researching, identifying, analysing & executing new business leads and in the development of existing accounts for the Flexipol Group.
  • To drive the development of new products and the optimisation of existing products to improve customer satisfaction and aid business growth.
  • Understand customer demand (working backwards mentality) which will help drive more business in new markets / new products. This will also help contribute to providing a world class technical support function for new and existing customers.
  • The objective for the business process is to allow no compromise in delivering the best packaging solutions on the market today.

Key Areas of responsibility:

Business Strategy

  • To contribute to the formulation of the sales budget in respect of new prospects and current business.
  • To research new markets and identify potential customers from these areas.
  • To contribute to business strategies for new business / new product initiatives and ensuring we are on track to achieve our business objectives.

Customer Service

  • Visit new and existing customers to look at existing packaging and advise how this could be optimised.
  • To assist with the management and development of existing sales accounts to maximise product sales and increase margin through value engineering and product rationalisation.
  • To introduce and maintain a multi-tier customer service from internal sales to technical support.
  • Provide technical support for trials, new installations and specification changes as required.
  • Provide customer complaint assistance to internal departments by visiting customers to discuss and resolve challenges or issues with products.

Communication

  • To ensure all relevant information is communicated across the business commercial team
  • Report business achievements, challenges, developments, and market information to the team.
  • To follow up with trials and technical support as required.

New Product Development

  • NPD – discuss, assist, and implement new products, ideas and opportunities with the team.
  • To prepare quotations ensuring the pricing is in line with business expectations.

Pricing

  • Continuously monitoring accounts against sales and tonnage based on the business budget and targets.
  • To manage, maintain & develop existing sales accounts to maximise product sales and increase margin through value engineering & product rationalisation.
  • To prepare quotations ensuring the pricing is in line with business expectations.
